In the last issue, I told you about the decluttering of clothes process I had started, using Marie’s Condo’s method called The Art of Decluttering.
Marie is the Japanese author that made this process popular on Netflix, in magazines, and in newspapers.
My professional organizational coach, Andrea Sharb, Kay and I started the decluttering process with clothes then went to dishes.
I have often said that I have more dishes than most restaurants. After years of collecting glasses, souvenirs, and pots and pans from my mom, I finally had enough. Again, as with the clothing, every dish, pan, glass, mug, and silverware went on my ping pong table and every other table in the house. We separated all the doubles and triples and placed all the giveaways in boxes. We separated some good things that the kids might use someday in their first homes.
Andrea cataloged all these items and I took pictures for tax purposes (of course). I ended up with ALL my dishes, glasses, etc. neatly in drawers and cabinets. No more crashes heard throughout the house when looking for a specific dish.
Next: Books and papers.
Action Step: Declutter your kitchenware.
