Are you Taking Action?
- WHAT IS STOPPING YOU? From Taking action? From being your Best?
- What controls and determines the quality of our lives?
- Why do we do what we do?
These are three common questions I hear in my coaching business. Mostly because clients are looking to move forward and these are three roadblocks stopping them.
Here are my answers and some steps to take to get beyond these roadblocks:
Don’t fear failure; Fear Inaction.
1. Fear stops us from moving forward. It is hard wired into us. There is nothing that we can do to completely remove it from our thinking, but the key is learning to use fear instead of it using you.
Example: I fear leaving my current job or situation because I do not know what the future will hold.
Solution: If I don’t make a move soon I fear my mental and physical health will be in jeopardy, which is much more to fear then leaving my current status.
2. Emotions control and determine the quality of our lives. We associate a certain emotion to every event or situation in our lives. How and what emotions we are feeling and associating with the most determines what type of life we are living.
3. Human Need is the universal force behind our actions. Certainty, Variety, Uncertainty, Growth, Contribution, and Significance are the six needs that all humans have. Which do you identify as the most important to you? If it is “certainty” then most likely you won’t take many chances in your life and business. If it is “variety” then you probably become bored quickly and change things in your life often. If it is “contribution”, you most likely do a lot of charity work and money is not that important to you.
