As many of you know, my brother, Boris, passed away from leukemia in 1998. He was my only sibling and I miss him every day since he has been gone.
I formed a foundation in his honor to help not only keep his memory alive, but also to help others in need that are battling cancer. Each August, 70-120 people gather to golf, eat, drink, but mostly to help me keep my brother’s memory alive, at the same time collecting money for those in need that battle any type of cancer, including leukemia.
This year we were struck hard as my dear friend Ron Arndt’s 8 month granddaughter, Harper, contracted “ALL” (a form of leukemia). She spent 8 months in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy, but with the grace of God, is now home getting her chemotherapy outpatient. Her battle is not over yet but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Through our foundation, we donated $1,500 to sponsor her sister, Madison, to do a Trike and Bike in Strongsville for her sister. It is through the many generous donations over the 21 years of our golf outing that allows this type of impact. Thank you all!
Action Step: Find a charitable cause to support.
The Gratitude List is a simple, yet profound book that guides you to creating a list of people who have meant the most to your life and then using the list to remember and thank them regularly.
It is also a tribute to all the people who I am grateful for in my life. I hope the stories make you laugh, cry and think.
My hope is that this book brings back memories of all the people that have made you who you are today and helps you make your very own GratitudeList.
All proceeds will go to my brother’s charity “The Boris Pavicic Leukemia Foundation.”
